York Vivant has manufactured and exported hand-forged blades since 2012. Our smiths pattern-weld Damascus billets by hand, and every piece passes three separate quality inspections before dispatch. We supply collectors, chefs, retailers and private-label brands in more than twenty countries.

From Billet to Blade
The Process
01
Forging
High-carbon steel billets are stacked, forge-welded and folded by hand over a coal fire until the pattern is set deep in the steel.

Grinding & Shaping
Each blank is ground to its final profile, with bevels set and the edge geometry established entirely by eye and hand.

Handle Fitting
Horn, hardwood and pakka wood handles are shaped, pinned and fitted, then sanded through successive grits to a smooth finish.
04
Inspection & Finishing
Every piece passes three separate quality checks before a final polish and edge test clear it for packing and export.
